To support the growth of the business, we have an opportunity for an experienced business development specialist to join our commercial insurance team based in Horsham.

As the Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a high quality response to warm commercial insurance (business and farm) opportunities coming from our Banking customer network, and providing service to existing clients.

Working within a high volume sales environment, where no cold calling is required, your ability to maintain and develop your knowledge of products, customers and competitors, along with the ability to identify and accommodate the specific insurance needs of our business customers will be critical.

You will capitalise on your in-depth sales and insurance knowledge to proactively develop and grow the commercial insurance portfolio to achieve agreed targets, whilst ensuring that all risk, compliance and audit requirements are met, including training and accreditation.

This role would ideally suit a sales professional with a minimum of 5 years general insurance experience working within a Broking or Authorised Representative environment; Underpinned by an ANZIIF Diploma or Cert 4 of General Insurance (or equivalent) you are PS146 Compliant - Tier 1 Accident & Illness; Tier 2 all other General Insurance. A tertiary qualification in a business related discipline would also be highly desirable.

To be successful in this role it is imperative that you are client focused and have the ability to demonstrate leadership and be a positive influence whilst working in a team environment. A proven networker and relationship manager, your business acumen and development skills position you well as a proven performer.

You will have a strong working knowledge of Ebix and Sunrise Exchange. A good working knowledge of the FINNAS system will also be highly regarded. You must hold a current Australian driver's licence as some business travel will be required from time to time.

Your understanding of the Bendigo & Adelaide Bank and the bank's Community Bank ® distribution model would also be highly desirable.
